My final paper

At this point, I feel my paper is pretty good. I feel very confident but I am also very tired. This paper took a lot of time away from my family. I do not have a different point of view on writing. I still do not like writing and hopefully I am done with my writing classes. It is kind of fun to research a topic but there are some topics that I want to research but they are too contrivesial to have as a research topic for class. I think that some of those topics can be researched and written about without causing havoc in the class. I would like to research about breast cancer, migraine headaches, abortion, teen pregnancy and many others.

The writing process

Some issues I have had through the writing process were choosing a topic, coming up with a thesis statement, and creating a conclusion. I had a hard time choosing a topic because I wanted to write about migraine headaches and then I discovered that someone else in the class had that topic so I chose breast cancer but it turned out that some had that topic as well so I chose to write about cystic fibrosis. I probably could have went with one of the other topics that I had chosen but I wanted to be different. I had a hard time with the thesis because I just don't have a very creative imagination so I could not come up with a real catchy one. Same goes for the conclusion. I know that part of the conclusion is to restate your thesis but that is only one sentance. I still had to come up with a least four more sentances to make it a whole paragraph and I have to do this without introducing new information.
I sort of wish that more posts were made to my blogs but I know that everyone is busy because I am busy as well. Just finding the time to even do school work is becoming more difficult these days. I like the blog because it gives me a chance to express myself but I think that for it to be a requirement in a class is kind of silly. It is a waste of time because I have more important things to work on like my paper. I do not think I will continue to write in my blog after this class is over unless another class of mine makes it a requirement.

Great Holiday Break

Well, I had a great holiday break but it was not long enough. I was not ready to return to school but even if we had another week, I would say the same thing. Breaks are never long enough.
The writing process has helped me a lot when preparing my research paper. I wish I would have learned about the writing process when I was in high school. I think that I would have got better grades if I was taught to write a paper properly. I think the hardest parts of the writing process are picking a topic, writing the thesis, and writing the conclusion. I know that the conclusion should be easy but for me it is hard. I think the hardest part of all is picking a topic. You have to pick a topic that is not too broad but not too narrow and it has to be a topic that is non-controversial and one that you can find enough information on to be able to write a 5-6 page essay. Whew, that is tough.

Past 6 weeks

The past six weeks have been very hectic for me, my son, and my husband. I was and still am dealing with a custody battle with my ex over my son. I think it is a terrible thing to have to put my son through but I am not the one that brought this upon us. I moved to Pueblo and I like it but my family lives in Denver and I miss them very much. It is a good thing that my husbands family lives here so I know some people. My car needs a new ignition switch and a new battery. If anyone has a BMW then they know how expensive they can be to fix. My husband has to get a new starter for his Jeep, and I need a million dollars. Oh how nice it would be to have that kind of money. My dog decided to rip up the carpet in the laundry room so we put lenolium down ovewr it and he ripped that up too. I cannot wait until the puppy stage is over. On a lighter note, my husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary on the 3rd of December. I am very excited about that. I know it sounds like I am not happy but I really am. I have just been going through a lot these past few weeks.

Crazy week!!!

Well lets see, where to start. My car ignition thinks it is in the "acc" mode and now my battery is dead. I do not have internet yet because we just moved so I have to go to the library to do school. I could not get into the Kaplan library yesterday so I could not do any research. I have just had a very bad week and I really hope next week is better. I just seems that everything is falling apart and I am usually not a negative person but right now I feel like there is no hope for anything. My sister says everything happens for a reason and I do believe that but I need my car to be working. Well hopefully everything will be okay and I will have some good news to write about next week.

Plagiarism

I feel, or as a matter of fact know, that citing sources in which you obtain information from is very important. If we do not cite our sources, then we a commiting plagiarism and that is illegal. When someone obtains information from a source, they need to give credit to the person who wrote the information in which they have obtained. Plagiarism is copying someone else's work and claiming it as your own. I know that if I wrote something, whether it be a research paper or a book, and someone rewrote it and claimed it aas their own, I would be furious and I would alert the proper authorities.

I am new at this whole blog thing. I kind of have an idea of how it works but not all that well. Something that I have encountered in my life recently is the fact that my ex is trying to get custody of my son. I never thought I would have to go through this. I really want this to be over and I want my son.
